Break Ke Baad

So here comes my first blog. Being an avid movie lover(read Only Bollywood Movies) that I am, this blog was waiting to happen for a long time. Sometimes I think, this could make an interesting profession for me.So here it begins:
It was 26th of November 2010(Friday),I had taken a Comp Off and was ready to watch this movie, the only reason being its youth Appeal and that Deepika was in this movie. I have always felt that she is an icon in terms of fashion and the way she carries herself.I had no expectations from Imran,the fact being 'I hate Luv Storys' sucked big time.
Something about the Creators of the Movie: I have always felt that Kunal kohli is a good director,even though all of his movies haven't been that great,so when this movie came from his stable,I was bound to give it a shot. I didn't know absolutely anything about the Director Danish Aslam rather than the fact that he is Shruti Seth's hubby(astonished?).Vishal-Shekhar's music is sort of Ok.
The movie starts with the kiddos being shown as friends and Navin Nischol running the Jeet Theatre.There is some inherent cuteness during this 5-10 mins,with the kids repeating the Mogambo dialogs,the boy preparing Sandwich for his girl and the most funny one being. the boy(Sardarji frm KKHH) acting as a protective boy friend for his POOJA BEDI,when she enacts Pehla Nasha!And I felt that this movie was on right track.Then came Deepika,with a cigar in her mouth and saying "Tumhara dhuan Hawan aur hamara Dhuan Pollution".That look of hers,uffff,Dil main guitar bajne lagi and dont blame me for it,since I have always Liked her(except in Chandni Chowk to China).All of a sudden, the movie goes into a useless point , "A BREAK", with Deeps saying that she wants to goes Australia for her graduation and our Mr Dear BoyFriend calling her day in and Day out (Call rates saste ho gaye the Kya?) and finally all of a sudden reaches Australia the next Day(I wonder how do they give Australian Visas in just one Day). The movie then wanders aimlessly with Imran trying to woo her but alas ,our Deeps madam is just stuck in her acting dreams.But as they say, true love finds itself,Imran makes a fool of her at the end and gets her back. This is it,ek Break laga,fir lagte gaya aur lagte gaya aur uske baad gaadi chalne lagi,the End. A simple nonsense idea for a movie. Tell me, when you have such a charming,caring boyfriend, who is so down to earth,who the hell would want to leave her.Simply can't understand!
My expert Comments Column:These include both good and bad points about the movie and these are strictly my personal views:
1.Readers, you were bound to expect the first one as this only,DEEPIKA is simple awesome, she has probably learned the traits from Geet(Jab We met) and Dabboo(Golmaal 3)
2. Imran, as the boy next door ,impresses me with his charming underplayed act.
3. Few scenes are worth mentioning:"Chillar party on the Roads enacting Jay and Aaliya","Deepika playing the role of Shahrukh khan"( I felt that she just did it perfectly)
4. Navin Nischol and Sharmila Tagore don't get many scenes,but they are Ok.
5.Shahana Goswami is ok but overdoes sometimes. Yudhishtir Urs (Cyrus) is a complete waste and there was absolutely no need of him.
6. Dooriyan Song is the best of the Lot and can be a party anthem!
On the whole, the movie is Ok for Deepika lovers like me and girls if you want to watch Imran, you can give it a shot.
I would go with 2.5* out of 5.
